Work has started on a new development that will see a new social club as well as 12 new homes built on Farnley Road in Menston.
The site is being developed by Yorkshire-based firm CFK Developments and Castlehouse Construction has been appointed as the main contractor. Work is due to be completed in spring next year.
Menston Club has occupied the site since 1920 and is being demolished and re-built as part of the development to create a new and modern centre with three snooker tables on the first floor and a community centre with a lounge and bar area downstairs.
Philip Cable, managing director of CFK Developments, said: “This new club will offer brand new facilities in a modern building and it will be a fantastic asset for both Menston and its residents.
“We’re also due to start work on the first phase of the development.”
