Plans for a 35-metre high wind turbine on a Silsden farm have been refused because it would “substantially detract” from the surrounding landscape.
Steven Turner had applied to erect the turbine at Heights Farm, Heights Lane, to support the dairy farm business. But officers at Bradford Council refused the application.
They recognised that the turbine would provide green energy, but added: “We must balance the weight of these considerations against the substantial weight which must be attached to the visual harm to this sensitive and fragile upland landscape.”
