Zahida Manzoor
Zahida Manzoor, a former chairman of Bradford Health Authority, was today included on a list of 30 peers appointed to the House of Lords.
Mrs Manzoor, 55, who began her career as a nurse, is also a former Legal Services Ombudsman and a former deputy chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality.
She was one of ten Liberal Democrats to be appointed as working peers after being nominated by the party leaders and cleared by the independent House of Lords Appointments Commission.
The list also included party donors, several former MPs, members of the European Parliament and devolved assemblies and party officials, as well as justice campaigner Doreen Lawrence, who becomes a baroness on the Labour benches.
