The sentencing of a 22-year-old woman, who repeatedly stabbed her mother in the chest during a heated argument, was adjourned today because all the medical evidence was not available to the judge.
Susan Ayrey, of Lindholme Gardens, Allerton, Bradford, had previously pleaded guilty to wounding Elaine Ayrey, 49, with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm.
She was due to be sentenced at Bradford Crown Court today, but Ayrey’s barrister, Rebecca Young, told the court that some medical notes which had been provided were ineligible and insufficent.
Other medical records, relating to a head injury the defendant received during a previous fight with her mother, had not been sent to the defence.
Judge John Potter agreed to adjourn the case until September 9.
Ayrey was granted bail on condition that she does not contact her mother, or enter Keighley.
