Flood warnings are to be sent out to firms, schools and doctors surgeries near the River Wharfe under a newly-launched system.
The Wharfe Valley Alert scheme has been set up by Leeds City Council to give advance warning of emergencies and disruption to organisations on the river’s floodplain. At this stage individuals are not being invited to enrol.
