Ilkley Lido re-opened this morning after the popular facility was forced to close on Thursday for repairs to a pump that circulates water.
On Thursday, Bradford Council said the closure was down to “essential maintenance.”
When quizzed further on the reasons for the closure, Councillor Andrew Thornton, the Council’s executive member for environment, said: “It was not shut for routine maintenance. There was a problem with a circulation pump, which circulates the water and without that there is a problem keeping the pool clean.
“Unfortunately there was a failure with some part that does not normally fail and it was too late to fix it in that day. The part is now in and fixed and the lido is now open today and over the weekend.”
