Old people in Denholme are out to prove they are not over the hill yet!
They’re being invited to join the district’s latest NOTHY! social and self-help group. NOTHY!, which stands for Not Over The Hill Yet, was set up in Haworth by villagers Shona and Jeff Grange.
The group allows retired people to network, share skills and offer mutual support to each other.
Mrs Grange is now setting up a NOTHY at the Royal pub on the main road through Denholme, beginning on Tuesday, July 23.
Shona said the Denholme group followed research into loneliness.
NOTHY! will meet at the Royal on the first Tuesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm and is open to everyone.
The first session will feature free teas, coffees and cake. The group will be run by the Royal landlord Derek Shaw and the Community Link worker Peter Handley.
