A school’s high-fliers got a memorable end-of-term treat, courtesy of the Royal Air Force.
A four-person RAF team landed a Sea King search and rescue helicopter in the grounds of Green Lane Primary School, Bradford, yesterday. The whole school came out to watch the helicopter land, and children who had been especially good this term got a tour of the cockpit.
A member of the RAF team, Flight Lt Richard Smithson, is the brother of schoolteacher Rachel Allinson. She said: “It was absolutely fantastic. The children were shouting and cheering.”
