Police have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with a shooting incident outside a Bradford social club.
The man was detained this morning and will be questioned by detectives during the day about the incident, in which a 27-year-old man was shot in the face with a double barreled shotgun.
The victim, named locally as Eugene Nelson, was today undergoing further surgery in hospital to remove lead pellets from his face. Detectives are waiting to talk to him about the shooting, which took place just before 6pm on Tuesday when a car pulled up and two shots were fired from a window into the car park of Holmewood Social Club, on Broadstone Way, Holme Wood.
It is understood the suspect handed himself in, with his solicitor, at a Bradford police station.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A 35-year-old man from the Halifax area has been arrested in connection with the shooting outside Holmewood Social Club. He will be interviewed during the day.”
