It is time the Government got control of who is entering and leaving the country according to Shipley’s Tory MP.
Philip Davies believes the targets for exit checks set for 2015 will not be met as the programme is “painfully slow”.
Speaking during Home Office questions yesterday, he said: “At the moment the Government has no idea who is leaving the country and no record or idea about people outstaying their visas.
He asked the Home Office Minister Mark Hoban how the targets would be met. In reply, Mr Hoban said: “Through the work we have done already the data we collect on our e-borders programme, that is work where we already have quite a bit of coverage of those coming in to and out of the united Kingdom, a much better system actually than exists almost anywhere in the world.”
