The Bradford Bulls Foundation is putting its heart into a new project funded by Heart Research UK to get pupils from across Bradford more healthy.

The ‘Take Heart Take Part’ programme, which will deliver fun, lively and visual three week sessions to schools across Bradford, will show how diet choices, food preparation and being more active all contribute to a healthy heart.

The programme which was awarded a Healthy Heart Grant of £10,000 by Heart Research UK will use the status and branding of the Bradford Bulls super league club to encourage and demonstrate to the pupils what can be achieved by making positive lifestyle changes.

The Rugby Super League players will be invited along to school sessions to help reinforce the aim of the project and to show the pupils’ what can be achieved by making healthy life style choices.

Gareth Cook, who is General Manager at the Bradford Bulls Foundation, said: "We are delighted to once again partner with Heart Research following the success of our project last year.

"Take Heart, Take Part is another innovative programme that delivers key messages to young people and their families.

"The initiative will be a mix of both theory and practical concluding with a parental engagement session with the aim to inspire and motivate children and their families to lead a healthy and active lifestyle."
