Athletes from Benton Park School in Rawdon enjoyed a golden sporting moment when they posed with an Olympic torch after representing Leeds in the West Yorkshire Youth Games.
The students had competed against all other Leeds high schools in a series of athletics competitions and qualified for the games by finishing in the top three.
Deputy curriculum leader in PE, Dan Furniss, said: “It is a real team achievement, with nearly 30 students being part of the team who brought us this success.”
The torch was brought to the event by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Leeds, Tom and Edna Murray.
