A kind-hearted Ilkley schoolboy is to climb Yorkshire’s Three Peaks over three days to raise money for a charity that supports the homeless after being shocked by the plight of people sleeping on the streets.
Six-year-old Jack Preston (pictured), a pupil of Ashlands Primary School and a Beaver Scout, was visiting Leeds City Museum when he first saw homeless people begging.
Jack decided to combine his love of walking with his wish to give to charity by taking on the challenge of walking up Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent, over three days in August.
He will raise money for Simon on the Streets, a charity which offers street-based support in Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield.
