A great servant of Heaton was remembered at a graveyard tour.
Margaret Gray, of Friends of Heaton Graveyard group, conducted a talk and tour at the Highgate site in memory of Stanley King last night.
The tour also served as a celebration of the lives of those who lie at rest in Heaton – including Mr King. Mr King, who died last October, held the title of Lord of the Manor of Heaton. He was also a former Bradford Lord Mayor.
The current Lord of the Manor of Heaton, Christopher Ball – Mr King’s nephew - attended the tour.
Mr King was an enthusiastic and supportive member of the community in Heaton. He had been a Conservative councillor for Heaton for 38 years until his retirement in 2008.
