Paintings done by people with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses are going on display at Bradford’s Industrial Museum.
The three-month exhibition, showcasing work by patients from the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford, opens tomorrow at 11.30am and runs until mid-October.
It has been organised by art tutor Steve Davis, who has taught patients at the Leeds Road hospice for 15 years.
He said: “In the Day Therapy Unit at the hospice we use art as a therapeutic medium for people with life-limiting illnesses.
“It enables them to look at things in a very positive light. People become engrossed in their work and become much more relaxed. Most of the people whose work is exhibited here have never painted before. All the work is their own, and totally original.” Willie Hathaway, a day therapy patient at the hospice, loves painting and will have several exhibits on display.
