There will be double delight for a Keighley teacher and her classroom assistant – they’re both expecting twins!

Eve Roche and Sharon Nelson discovered they were pregnant within days of each other during Christmas.

Their August due dates are only one day apart and their births – which will be early because they are having twins – will be induced on July 30 and 29 respectively.

Teacher, Eve, and teaching assistant, Sharon, both left Parkwood Primary School for maternity leave on the same day. Eve, 34, and partner Jakke Percy, from Oxenhope, already have a two-year old daughter, Esme, and do not yet know the sex of their twins.

Eve said: “I came back to school after Christmas and announced I was pregnant... then so did Sharon.”

Following her scan, Steeton resident Sharon, 22, knows she and husband Chris are to have two girls.

She said: “I thought it might be twins because it’s in the family.

“At first Chris was speechless, but now he can’t wait.”

Both pairs of twins are non-identical.
