A budding young Hitchcock from Keighley will see his slasher film, about an escaped killer stalking the streets of Menston, premiere at an international film festival this month.

George Holmes, 17, who studies media at Ilkley Grammar School and lives on Maple Grove, filmed and directed The Asylum as part of an A Level project, and it has now been chosen to screen at the 2013 Co-operative Film Festival.

It will join other films, all under six minutes’ long and by young people aged 22 and under, shown over nine screenings throughout the three-day event.

The film festival runs from July 17-19.
