Co-operative members have helped four groups in Bradford with a grant of £6,400 between them.
Homeless charity, Hope Housing, has received £2,000 to help the group fund a Project Co-ordinator.
Drighlington Scout & Guide Hut has been awarded £2,000 for a new roof.
The Sharakat Project received £1,700 to continue its “Conversation Cafe” for women from various cultural backgrounds. And The Edge Project has been awarded £700 to develop its “iBank project”, which helps young people develop money management skills.
The groups received the cash boosts from The Co-operative’s Community Fund, a pot saved by customers who donate their dividend to good causes.
David Haigh, of the West Yorkshire Area Committee, said: “Supporting local communities has been an inherent part of The Co-operative’s values and principles since the very beginning.”
