Pupils put on their best clothes and smiles for an Oscars-style award ceremony.

More than 100 primary pupils attended the event and had the opportunity to walk the red carpet and see the films they have been working on for a competition.

Bradford Council’s Curriculum Innovation Team organised the celebration which was at the National Media Museum.

Entries were shown on the big screen in the Pictureville auditorium in front of the audience, made up of teachers, parents and school-based staff, who had to vote for their favourite entry using voting keypads.

There were three categories: digital animation, visual story and film. The competition was the culmination of the support which has been provided in schools by the Curriculum Innovation Team over the course of the year.

Councillor Ralph Berry, executive member for children’s services, said: “This is a great way to celebrate the months of creative thinking and curriculum work which will have gone into these films.

“Congratulations to all the pupils and teachers who have turned an idea into a film or animation.”
