An organisation that represents children and families in court is hosting a Bradford open for social workers.

Cafcass, the Children and Family Courts Advisory and Support Service, is hosting the day for people interested in taking the next step in their social work career in West Yorkshire.

The event on Tuesday, July 16 is an opportunity for people to meet staff from the organisation and talk with a young person who has used Cafcass’ services.

Cafcass gives a voice to children and young people who are going through the family courts and provides the court with the information it needs to make a safe decision about the futures of those children.

The service's Bradford office is working with 292 children who were facing an abusive or unsafe situation at home, and 585 children whose parents approached the court for help around contact or residence arrangements following separation.

The open day will run from 4pm to 7pm at Kenburgh House, 28a Manor Row, Bradford, West Yorkshire.
