A man accused of murdering his grandmother and attempting to murder a nine-year-old boy has made his first court appearance.
Nathaniel Thomas Flynn, 26, of Prospect Mount, Windhill, Shipley, spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth when he appeared flanked by two female security officers in the dock at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.
He is accused of the murder of Louisa Denby, 84, at her home in Prospect Mount between June 30 and July 1 and the attempted murder of the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on July 1.
No application was made for bail and Flynn was remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court on July 9 by Deputy District Judge David Scanlon.
