A cricket game with a difference is coming to Scholes, near Cleckheaton, on Sunday – offering a free day of family fun.
Runs On The Board is an arts and community celebration of over-50s cricket, supported by Yorkshire County Cricket Club and, for the first time, sponsored by Yorkshire Building Society.
Cricket teams from around Yorkshire compete in a bid to win the Grey Fox Trophy, and from 1.30pm on Sunday, Scholes will host a pool game between Central Yorkshire and Mirfield Harry Lime.
To celebrate the competition coming to Scholes Cricket Club in New Popplewell Lane, a fun-filled day for adults and children is planned.
Entry to the ground is free on the day and Yorkshire Building Society is providing music and entertainment and a children’s face painter will also be on hand.
Curry lovers will be catered for with a pop-up Indian restaurant.
Staff at Yorkshire Building Society’s branches at Cleckheaton, Brighouse and Wyke will also on hand throughout the day providing tea for the hard working cricketers.
