Teams of primary school youngsters demonstrated their business savvy by taking part in a contest based on hit television show The Apprentice.
A five-strong team of girls was pitted against five boys at Glusburn Primary to visit a different selection of local businesses to sell advertising space on the school website, prospectus and newsletters.
The year six children were chosen for the competition after writing business proposals spelling out why they should be picked.
Both teams told the local stores how they would benefit from advertising, and explained how the school would spend the advertising revenue it secured.
The girls’ team were the winners, and for their prize the pupils were taken to enjoy refreshments at Luby’s Tea Room.
