It’s July 4 and Saltaire shops are celebrating their own “Independents Day” with promotions and discounts.
Hi-jacking the Americans’ Independence Day, businesses are urging people to shop locally in independent shops.
David Ford, chairman of Saltaire Traders’ Association, said: "We want to show people the wide variety that exists here and to demonstrate that people can get all their shopping locally from our fantastic range of independent shops. We have 90 individual shops, cafes and pubs in Saltaire, almost all of them independently owned by our very enterprising bunch of entrepreneurs.”
Haldi Kranich-Wood of gift and craft shop shop The Butterfly Rooms, said: “It will be a great day, so please come out and show your support.”
