The girl who will open Shelf Gala has been chosen.
Chelseigh Maegan Darling (pictured right), 12, has been named as this year’s Shelf Gala Queen.
The Hipper-holme and Lightcliffe High School pupil will have the honour of opening the gala at 1pm on Saturday after a procession which leaves Bethel Chapel at 12.30pm. Mum Gaynor Darling said: “Chelseigh’s family are so proud of her being chosen as Shelf Gala Queen.”
Chelseigh’s attendant will be Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College pupil Laura Wren (pictured left). The pair have been friends since they were young, Mrs Darling said.
