A police inspector is urging residents to keep their houses secure during warm weather.
Inspector Richard Coldwell, from the Aireborough & Wharfedale Neighbourhood Policing Team, is making the appeal due to the high numbers of local burglaries which involve unsecured doors or windows.
Ins Coldwell, who is based at Otley Police Station, is also advising bicycle owners to take extra precautions following a number of break-ins to outbuildings.
