A man has pleaded guilty to a robbery at a jewellery shop in Bradford last month.
Liam Benson, 29, appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday in connection with an incident at The Gold Shop, in Wakefield Road, Dudley Hill, Bradford, on May 23 this year.
Benson, of Third Avenue, Rothwell, Leeds, admitted robbing Maurice Willan.
His barrister, Carl Chambers, asked for sentencing to be adjourned for medical evidence.
Prosecutor Richard Davies said: “This was a nasty armed robbery by three people armed with weapons, smashing up counters.”
Mr Davies said Benson had a previous conviction for burglary with violence.
Adjourning the case until July 5 for sentencing, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC said: “Probation must have a look to find out why you resorted to such extreme methods.”
