The bells of Bingley All Saints Church rang out a quarter peal in celebration of retired ringer Dorothy Winup’s 80th birthday.
Mrs Winup began ringing at the church as a 16-year-old and was its first female ringer.
She remained loyal throughout difficult times when numbers dwindled, but by the time she retired from the ringing chamber in 1993 a steady, stable band had been established.
And four of the friends who rang with her were helped ring the quarter peal in celebration of her 80th birthday today.
