Four of the district’s MPs gathered around a table to co-ordinate their approach to saving the National Media Museum.
Respect MP George Galloway (Bradford West), Bradford South MP Gerry Sutcliffe (Lab), Bradford East MP David Ward (Lib Dem) and Shipley MP Philip Davies (Con) held top-level talks yesterday in Parliament to co-ordinate a united cross-party approach to the threat to the museum. The meeting was called by Mr Galloway. Keighley MP Kris Hopkins (Con) was unable to attend.
The MPs are intending to table questions to Business Secretary Vince Cable and Minister for Culture, Media and Sport Maria Miller next week.
Mr Galloway has applied for an adjournment debate which would take place on Tuesday or Wednesday next week and Mr Davies agreed to contact the Culture Secretary for a private meeting with Bradford’s five MPs. There is also now a select committee enquiry likely in July.
