A man who breached a suspended prison sentence order by missing probation appointments was given a last chance by a judge.
Alan Gatenby, 38, of Grayswood Drive, Holme Wood, Bradford, had been given an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, with 120 hours’ unpaid work, 18 months’ supervision and a nine-month Drugs Rehabilitation Requirement last December for burglary.
But prosecutor Louise Azmi told Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC at Bradford Crown Court yesterday 112 hours of the unpaid work was outstanding, and he had missed probation and drugs rehabilitation appointments.
His barrister, Tom Storey, said his client had been working six days a week to try to pay off his debts.
Judge Durham Hall reaffirmed the suspended sentence order, with an extra 38 hours of unpaid work.
