A woman who is alleged to have stabbed her mother is likely to plead guilty to wounding with intent, her barrister told a court yesterday.
Susan Ayrey, 22, of Lindholme Gardens, Allerton, Bradford, appeared at Bradford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing, in connection with an incident in which her mother, Elaine Ayrey, 49, suffered stab wounds.
Ayrey’s barrister, Rebecca Young, told Judge John Potter: “It will be her intention to plead guilty. However, none of the medical evidence has been served. It is anticipated it will be a guilty plea to wounding with intent. The Crown isn’t in a position to say whether a lesser plea will be acceptable.”
Judge Potter adjourned the case until June 27 and reserved the case to himself.
Ayrey was granted bail on condition that she does not contact prosecution witnesses and does not enter Keighley.
