Bradford-based supermarket chain Morrisons has begun stocking a beer inspired by a 30-year-old heavy metal song.
Trooper Ale, brewed by Robinsons Brewers and inspired by Iron Maiden’s classic 1983 single, is shipping to 450 of the chain’s stores across the country in the build-up to the band’s headline set at this weekend’s Download Festival.
It is so far the only supermarket chain to stock the ale, which was brewed with input from the band’s eccentric frontman, airline pilot and fencer Bruce Dickinson.
