Bradford Council is urging anyone who wants to help save the National Media Museum to attend a public meeting at City Hall tonight at 6.30pm.

The meeting has been arranged so that people can share their ideas on how to save the museum for future generations.

The Council also is supporting the campaign run by the T&A and urging residents to sign the petition on our website at http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/local/localbrad/news_bradford_mediapetition/ and turn up to this meeting.

The Council and MPs are lobbying Government Ministers as well as working with the national Science Museum Group and with Manchester and York councils, who have science museums in their areas which are also under threat.

The National Media Museum contributes over £24 million per annum to the Bradford economy in purchases made by museum visitors in local cafes and shops across the city. It provides around 100 jobs which add an extra £3.7 million to the Bradford economy.

Council Leader, Councillor David Green, said: "We want as many people as possible to come and share any ideas they have about what can be done to save the National Media Museum. Closing the Media Museum would be a devastating blow to the financial and cultural economy of Bradford.

"The Media Museum in our city is not the only museum under threat and we should all stand together to fight to save these vital national resources for the North of England.”
