A three-legged Golden Retriever from Bradford is battling the bulge in a national slimming competition.
Three-year-old Poppie from Thornton, was put forward for the Pet Fit Club – the annual slimming competition run by the veterinary charity the PDSA, by her owner Robert McEntree.
Since embarking on the six month diet and fitness challenge, Poppy has dropped from 34kg to 30.1kg (4st 10lb).
She is on course to lose a further 8.1kg to achieve her 22kg target.
Losing weight will make life easier for Poppy who was born with three legs. Robert adopted her when she was very young and she has become an integral part of his family and an important companion for Bethany, 17, Caitlyn (12), Joseph (9) and William (22 months).
