Bradford suffered one confirmed case of measles during April, according to new figures released by watchdog Public Health England.
Across Yorkshire and Humberside there were a total of six cases of the preventable infectious disease on top of 63 cases from January to March this year.
That brings Bradford’s total to five cases for the year to date – compared to seven in Leeds, nine in York and Rotherham and two in Wakefield.
The age group most at risk of measles are ten to 16-year olds.
Dr Stephen Morton, PHE Yorkshire and Humber Centre Director said: “our ambition is to vaccinate 95 per cent of ten to 16-year- olds in time for the next school year. The message to parents who think their child may not be fully immunised is to check today.”
