A missing man who works at Bradford Cathedral has been found safe and well.

Christopher Aldred was reported missing on Friday morning when he failed to return home after work.

The 53-year-old’s car was later spotted travelling west on the M62.

Police said he returned to his home in Harrogate at noon on Saturday.

Mr Aldred works as an administrator at the cathedral. He is a keen fundraiser and in 2012 he raised more than £3,500 by running the Great North Run for Bradford charity Inn Churches.

He is also passionate about protecting Bradford Cathedral and was among a group of members “infuriated” by a spate of lead theft last year.
