The cabbie picked up a man from the Pear Tree pub, in Huddersfield Road, Mirfield. During the journey the suspect made racially abusive comments and then assaulted the driver when he stopped the car next to playing fields in Leeds Road, Huddersfield. The attacker then ran off without paying, leaving the victim with a grazed jaw. It happened between 12.30am and 1am last Sunday. He is described as white, stocky, aged around 35, and about 5ft 7ins tall, with brown wavy and was wearing a green T-shirt.
