Bradford Council has refused a barn conversion, saying it would be “unsympathetic” to the surrounding area.
Mark Holroyd applied to turn the building, on greenbelt land at Northfields Hall, Shay Lane, Wilsden, into a house.
Planning officers said the idea of a conversion was acceptable, but the design, including a glass balcony and new windows, was not.
