A Bradford woman is one of a number of apprentices from Bradford College who took top honours in the NHS Yorkshire and Humber Apprenticeship Awards 2013.

Vicky Kerrigan (pictured), 26, of Birkenshaw, an advanced pharmacy apprentice, was highly commended in the category Clinical Apprentice of the Year at the awards, held at the Marriott Hotel, Leeds. The actual award went to Gemma Cryer, also an advanced apprentice in pharmacy.

Richard Evans was awarded the prize for the apprentice ‘who has made the most impact after qualifying’.

He is a pharmacy technician at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, and completed his apprenticeship at Bradford College and has since gone on to gain a number of Medicines Management accreditations.

The Partnership Award went to Bradford College’s Vocational Science Department, City Training Services (the college’s apprenticeship provider) and the University of Leeds Pharmacy Development Unit.
