A convicted rapist labelled a danger to young girls has been jailed for three and a half months for flouting a court order to protect children from him.

Christian Williamson, 24, of New Cross Street, West Bowling, Bradford, breached the terms of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order when he let a 15-year-old boy stay overnight at his home.

Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday that police saw Williamson with the boy in St Stephens Street, West Bowling, on November 24 last year. Officers learned the teenager had been staying at his home.

Williamson said he thought the boy was 19 and had let him stay because he had troubles at home.

Prosecutor Richard Davies said Williamson was convicted of raping a vulnerable woman when he was a juvenile.

The Sexual Offences Prevention Order was imposed by magistrates in Grimsby last June at the request of Humberside Police. Mr Davies said it was a standalone order not connected to the rape conviction.

There was no suggestion anything sexual had taken place between Williamson and the boy and he had no convictions for sexually abusing children.

The Sexual Offences Prevention Order was made because of the suggestion Williamson posed a danger to girls under 16. The order barred Williamson having any contact with youngsters.

Williamson’s solicitor advocate Adam Walker said he was a troubled man with convictions for violence.

He had been held in custody for weeks after breaching what was a “comprehensive” list of prohibitions.

Judge Colin Burn said he had no power to vary the order but it could be looked at again by the magistrates.
