Sheep may soon be seen grazing in an Oakworth cemetery after the owner applied to turn it into agricultural land.
The burial grounds on Dockroyd Lane has not been used for internments for over 50 years, and has become overgrown.
Landowner Paul Rose asked for Bradford Council’s permission to clear the mess and graze sheep and other animals. He says grazing on the site: “will make good use of the land and prevent the undergrowth from returning once cleared.”
The gravestones and monuments will remain.
