A Bradford pastor has been to Downing Street to attend David Cameron's Easter reception for Christian leaders.

Charlotte Gambill was among guests at the event yesterday in her role as lead pastor at the Life Church – formerly Abundant Life Church – in Wapping Road.

The mother-of-two, a speaker and author who travels the world to spread God's word, has been at the Church since 1993.

Eighteen months ago she took on the role of lead pastor, which she shares with her husband Steve.

The church, which will put up its new name sign on its building in May, is getting set for its Easter events by sending out 10,000 fliers across the city inviting people to join in.

Good Friday will be marked with a celebration at the O2 Academy in Leeds from 7.30pm, followed on Easter Sunday, March 31, with a family event starting at 10.30am at the church in Bradford with live music and a children's programme with games, activities and an Easter Egg hunt.

Also that day, the church will be holding a Down On The Farm event, opening its doors to lambs, chickens, ducks, rabbits and guinea pigs.
