Shopkeepers and town centre businesses are being asked to turn back the clocks and celebrate our history in a shop window display competition to coincide with Ilkley Carnival.
The theme of this year’s Ilkley Carnival, on May 6, will be British History, and organisers are again challenging businesses to use their imaginations to decorate their front window in keeping with the carnival theme. The committee will be looking for the most imaginative and resourceful display and will be judging entries on April 27, with the winner announced in the week before the event. The winning store will be invited onto the carnival’s main stage to collect their trophy.
