Bradford Bulls players Heath L'Estrange, Adrian Purtell and Jarrod Sammut often work up a sweat on the rugby pitch, but you wouldn’t expect to find the lads indulging in beauty treatment, The players tried out Botox underarm treatment for sweating at an open evening at Good Skin Days Clinic in Guiseley.
“A few of the lads get really sweaty and a couple have tried ways of stopping it, like sprays, but nothing has worked,” said Adrian, who is an ambassador for Heart Research UK following a heart attack minutes after a match last year.
The treatment started with a consultation by Dr Rachael Kay, then a numbing gel was applied. The treatment involved injecting a small amount of Botox across 20 injection sites marked under each arm.
The players, who return to Australia several times a year, will be testing out the results down under. “The weather is so hot sometimes and sweating can be a nightmare, so this will be really good when I go back home,” said Adrian.
