Plans for an extension at a Bradford restaurant have been refused, The Shaan Restaurant and Takeaway, at 135 - 137 Toller Lane, has been seeking permission for a rear first floor extension.
But Bradford Council planners have turned down the application for the mid-terraced property, listing a number of reasons.
The application related to the construction of a first floor extension above an existing single storey rear extension and two storey rear extension adjacent to the adjoining property of 139 Toller Lane.
The application also sought to extend hours of use and add a new flue and air conditioning unit. In outlining reasons for refusal, the Council said extended opening hours would be detrimental to nearby residential properties.
The Council said the proposed increase in the restaurant’s floor area would intensify the use of the property, resulting in increased on-street parking, impacting on the local highway network.
The proposed development would also result in windows which would overlook neighbouring residential properties.
