Bradford Council has started a consultation into plans to create a unit for pupils with special educational needs at Crossflatts Primary School, near Bingley.
It is proposed to develop classes for primary children and young people with communication and interaction needs by establishing a Designated Specialist Provision (DSP).
It would create an additional 12 places in the north of Bradford for pupils with such needs.
The outcome of the consultation will go back to the Council by the end of June.
The provision could open in November if agreed. The consultation runs until May 7. For more information visit bradford.gov.uk/ bmdc/consultations.
