Saturday film matinees are returning to Bradford’s City Park in the run-up to the city’s film festival.

Free screenings of family films on the Big Screen will begin on March 30, with classic 1980s adventure Back to the Future – and film fans will have chance to get up close to a replica of the movie’s DeLorean car.

Other films screened over the six Saturday sessions, organised by Bradford’s City of Film team, include Toy Story and Aladdin.

David Wilson, director of Bradford City of Film, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to watch films in the stunning surroundings of Bradford’s City Park. We’re encouraging people to bring the family and dress up in costume in tribute to their favourite characters.”

Mr Wilson said the free cinema screenings will go ahead whatever the weather. The schedule is: Saturday, March 30, 10am to noon - Back to the Future (PG) starring Michael J Fox as teenager Marty McFly who travels 30 years into the past.
