Dog fouling in Denholme may be leading to increased loneliness for some in the village, a councillor says.
In the latest Denholme community magazine, Coun Dan Miller says dog dirt on the villages paths and around its schools and parks has recently increased, and many see it as the biggest local issue.
He said: “It is unhealthy, unpleasant and a public health concern. Some parents have stated that they will not take their children to Foster park to avoid stepping in dog dirt. This may have the impact of reducing the sense of community in the village as people don’t see as much as each other, which may increase the sense of loneliness in the village.”
He asks dog owners to be more considerate and pick up their pet’s mess, and advises anyone who spots someone not cleaning up after their dog to contact Bradford Council.
