A man who volunteers to help the victims of crime has been given a lifetime achievement award.
Mohammed Saddique, of Bradford, has won Victim Support’s charity staff and volunteers’ lifetime achievement award. As a victim support volunteer, Mr Saddique has supported victims of crimes such as burglary and car theft for 37 years.
He had previously been given a Milestone award for his work in May last year, for the time and effort he had put in as a volunteer.
When presented with his latest award, Mr Saddique said: “When I came to Britain from Kashmir 40 years ago, I had no idea it would lead to me standing here with a Lifetime Achievement Award for services to this wonderful charity.”
Javed Khan, chief executive of Victim Support, said: “Mohammed has dedicated 37 years of his life to helping victims of crime.”
