Keighley to get extra police officers

Keighley is to get five new police officers.

Three recruits will join the Neighbourhood Policing Team and two “student officers” will be taken on. West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) made the announcement during a public meeting in Keighley Town Hall.

Mark Burns-Williamson said he was committed to protecting frontline policing.

Earlier this month the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Panel had supported a 3.8 per cent increase in the policing precept, based on a commitment by Mr Burns-Williamson to invest £1.4 million into the recruitment of 44 new police officers across the region.

Lets hope they have better training in policing mental health health sufferers than the ones there already!
